Services on offer now include: building and management of oil camps; catering; supply chain management; logistics; motor vehicle hire and maintenance; tracking and delivery systesm; labour management and security; warehousing and storage; seismic study support and overall project management.
Camp building and management is the core business. It involves setting up facilities in remote locations to serve as a base for operators while they are in the field. Also sometimes referred to as ‘life support services,’ camp management encompasses everything from laundry, housekeeping and cleaning services to delivery of high-speed internet, television and recreational activities.
MSL currently runss two oil camps in Exploration Area 1 (operated by TOTAL) and on in Exploration Area 3 (operated by CNOOC). In addition, it provides warehousing services in Kiira, Ntoroko and Butiaba.
The company has also worked for Heritage Oil & Gas, Hardman Resources, Heritage, Tullow, Dominion, Tesla and Baker Hughes.
MSL plans to expand into lake transportation with partners East African Petroleum Services (EAPS) and has acquired land in Butiaba to start up a major landing base around the Lake Albert stretch. This development will also be open to the several service providers in the region.
The company is also looking towards entering the waste management business which they are scoping with a Norwegian partner.
At the same time, MSL is exploring opportunities beyond Uganda and has prospective clients in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and the Republic of Southern Sudan.
