Established in the USA in 1991 by Mahmoud Al Shehry, Inspecta International is a global company providing specialized services in ‘asset integrity management’—making sure that expensive equipment is fit for purpose and will not break down.
The company started out with consultancy services in non-destructive testing, welding and metallurgical quality control for clients in the oil, gas, petrochemical and power industries in USA. Twenty years on, Inspecta has grown to become a leading global provider of testing services, quality assurance control.
Within the oil and gas industry, ‘asset integrity management’ is applied to all stages of a project from the production of raw materials and manufacturing of parts, through to plant construction, start up, operations and maintenance. By ensuring the safe functioning of equipment, the risks of environmental and financial disaster are mitigated.
The company was registered in Uganda in December 2011, having made a number of presentations on the relevance of inspection and standardization within the oil and gas industry.
As well as offering its services to local industry stakeholders, the company has plans to create a Ugandan training institute that will see at least twenty local personnel trained to an internationally recognized qualification in inspection and testing. In the United Arab Emirates, Inspecta already runs a Petroleum Training Institute, established in 1991.
Inspecta International holds a number of international accreditations, including ISO 9001 for quality management systems and ISO/IEC 17020 for inspection bodies.
The company is also a member of International Marine Contractors Association, the International Federation of Inspection Agencies, and the Lifting Equipment Engineers Association.
